Kello Cl [In the left margin] John Dawson Will I John Dawson of Southampton County in Virginia being Will Sick and weak of Body but in Perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of this life and that it is appointed for all men to dy do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in form and Manner as following, to wit. Item: I give devise and bequeath to my Grandson John Dawson the sum of twenty shillings Cash to him & his Heirs forever Item: I give devise & bequeath to my son in law Abraham Johnson two shillings and six pence cash to him and his Heirs forever Item: I give devise and Bequeath to my Daughter Ann Joyner's Children the sum of twenty shillings Cash to be Equally Divided between and to their Heirs forever Item: I give Devise and Bequeath to my Daughter Mary Worrell the sum of twenty shillings Cash to her and her Heirs forever Item: I give devise and Bequeath to my Dear and loving wife Mary Dawson the use and profit of my loving & Plantation whereon I now live During her Natural life with free ~ privilege of all Timber &c that shall be Necessary [In the left margin] 197 for the plantation use also I give the profit and Labour of my Negro Slave (called) Betty During her Natural life also I give her one full half of all my Personal Estate to her and her Heirs forever The likewise my will & Desire that the other half of my Personal Estate with a certain Tract or Parcel of Land lying on the North side of Black Creek Swamp Containing forty five Acres more or less shall be sold to the best advantage by my Exor hereafter named and the Money Arising therefrom be applied to, and pay all my Debts Legacies & funeral Expenses.
